In addition to the traditional pillars of cancer treatment—surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy—a new approach has…Read More
Our medical vertical serves companies that manufacture healthcare equipment and supplies, provide healthcare-related services, or engage in research, development, production, and marketing of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology products.
The healthcare industry is predicted to grow faster and add more jobs over the next decade than any other sector. Technological advances are a major driver of this growth, and include trends such the emergence of personalized medicine, the development of immunotherapy, quality monitoring through analytics, and improved patient experience through artificial intelligence.
Changing patient demographics such as the growing aging population, increased levels of obesity, decreased numbers of smokers, and increased number of allergies, will present new challenges for pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers. A dynamic approach will be required to keep up with the rapid pace of progress in this space.

Landscape cutting edge technologies to shape internal R&D strategy
Need: Landscape cutting edge technologies to find inventions and inventors to shape internal R&D strategy
The Client approached PreScouter looking to understand the technology landscape as it pertained to next generation infection control techniques. Tight constraints were placed in the statement of work, which required late-stage technologies that the Client could develop internally. PreScouter determined that the ideal solution would be technology that could be captured by intellectual property.
PreScouter segmented the workflow to identify two specific technology reports that would compliment the problem statement. The first report went through emerging technologies for processes that would directly solve the end-goal. the processes were then refined, by the help of the Client’s input. In parallel, PreScouter ran the second report that identified technologies for infection control in adjacent spaces.
The deliverables demonstrated substantial value for the Client. In the report focused on market-adjacent technologies, two patents, four research groups and nine companies were identified that directly met all the criteria from the statement of work. The Client found various adjacent technologies to be of interest and followed up with direct contact with several of the technology providers. The report focused on emerging technologies, identified two companies, and although the number of curated leads was small, they were valuable to the Client. PreScouter reached out to attain interviews directly from both companies of interest, and the information was used to make an informed decision on partnership opportunities.
The Client was so surprised with the speed and precision of PreScouter’s technology results; they became full member clients.
