The COVID-19 pandemic is already being described as the worst public health crisis in a generation.
In the first 30 days of 2020, it went from ~50 confirmed cases to ~10,000 cases, mostly in China. It was then declared to be a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization (WHO). Since then, it has jumped to more than 330,000 confirmed cases across 193 countries and regions and ~15,000 fatalities.
