About the Client:
The Client for this in this Research Support Service was a global medical technology company. They engaged PreScouter to investigate disruptive technologies that could serve as a suitable pain-free alternative product to hypodermic needles and catheters.
Challenge:
The challenge for PreScouter was to help the Client understand the landscape of major innovators in needle technologies and identify new technologies that could replace current needles or dramatically decrease patients’ pain perception in existing needle technologies.
Approach:
PreScouter identified and profiled impactful players in the field and mapped promising technologies. Additionally, the team interviewed Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the fields of manufacturing, product development, and medicine. PreScouter identified 39 stakeholders, gathered medical information from 24 clinical studies to analyze pain perception scoring, and interviewed 5 SMEs.
Outcome:
Based on their findings, PreScouter mapped 36 new technologies that showed the potential to disrupt the needle technology landscape and improve patient pain perception scores.
